Follow these simple tips for care free traveling with your rambunctious canine.

  1. Fit a Dog Harness Seat Belt

This is a better idea for the more well-behaved dogs. It features a harness that fits into the safety belt lock and secures the dog in a comfortable position. If you have a dog who likes to chew their way to freedom, this could be a costly mistake.

How to Fit:

-Slide the seat belt from the car through the seat-belt loop of the dog harness and buckle them in.

– Now place the dog on the seat and connect the silver clasp to the harness

-Make a few adjustments so that your dog is not too free to move about, but not too tightly constrained either.

  1. Attach a Zipline Harness

Here is an option for an active energetic dog who can’t be bound to one spot. This zipline offers the dog restraint, but still allows them to move about. It can be used in conjunction with the dog harness.

How to Fit:

– Hook the zipline into the rear passenger tab and seat belt.

– Tug on the ziplines to make sure they are truly snug and firmly connected.

– Remove all slack from the zipline.

  1. Put Your Dog in a Crate

This is a good idea for those dogs who are chill and relaxed while in transit. This crate provides a special place that is comfy and secure. You will need to make sure that the crate you choose is a good size for the dog you have. At least so they can stand up and move around if they so choose.

How to Fit:

– Find a suitably sized crate that fits well in the cargo area of your car.

-Place the crate in the back of your SUV, hatchback, or station wagon or place the seat in the downward position of just about any regular car.

– Use a blanket to drape over the box and help your dog to relax.

4 . Get Your Dog a Plush Carry Box

If your dog is a little smaller and can get nervous while the car is in motion, a plush carry box is a good option for you. This can also be used in conjunction with a dog harness to secure the plush carry box in place.

How to Fit :

– The plush carry box can be situated on the back seat.

– Use the harness to secure the dog within and attach it to the carry box.

  1. Fit a Dog Guard

This is a good option for that dog who loves car rides and wants to keep an eye on what is happening around them. The guard will prevent your dog from being thrown violently in case you have to hit the brakes quite quickly.

How to Fit :

– Find a dog guard that fits snuggly your car.

-Secure the guard by bolting it behind the rear car seats.

– Lock the dog guard to the inside of the roof as per the instructions enclosed with your guard

  1. Provide a Back Seat Hammock

Here is a good option for that laid back dog that would like to lay back and enjoy the ride. This hammock will protect them from falling out of their seat and also prevent them from climbing into the front and potentially causing an accident.

How to Fit:

– Lay out the hammock with the quilted side on the back seat of the car.

-Fasten the anchors to the back of the front headrests

-Your dog will fit comfortably on the space provided
